The Abertis Foundation collaborates with the French Embassy in Spain to promote the Avenir grants. The programme offers excellence grants for young Spaniards who wish to study at a university in France or complete an internship in a French company in the areas of engineering, business administration, marketing or life sciences and health.

The Foundation also funds the grants from the Carolina Foundation and the Liceo Theatre aimed at students from Latin America (Argentina, Bolivia, Colombia, Chile, etc.) wishing to study a postgraduate degree in our country and, more particularly, the “Curso de Perfeccionamiento y Postgrado Musical para Iberoamérica” (Advanced and Post-graduate Music Course for Ibero-America) at the Liceo Theatre Higher Conservatory of Music in Barcelona.

For the Choristers of Montserrat

A magical mountain, one of the first places of worship for Catholicism in Catalonia, a symbol of political Catalanism… Everyone will give it a different meaning, but Montserrat mountain and its Monastery is one of the icons of Catalan culture. Inside the Monastery, which is home to La Moreneta (the black virgin), another symbol is the Escolanía de Montserrat (Choristers of Montserrat), the choir of altar boys that dates back seven centuries. For years now, the Abertis Foundation has been contributing to the Annual Programme of grants for the “Escolans” so that the young choir boys can hold concerts outside Catalonia. Dublin was the city chosen for 2018.

For university students from Castellet i La Gornal

The refurbishment of Castellet castle breathed new life into the fortress, making it the headquarters of the Abertis Foundation in 1999.Since then, the Foundation has remained involved in the region and has maintained a close relationship with the local council. Once of the most popular activities remains the grants to university students from Castellet i La Gornal (Barcelona), helping them pay for their travelling expenses to and from the faculties. During the 2018-2019 year, the grants were given to 23 students.

As indicated in the International UNESCO Centre section, its involvement in the region does not end here. Our Foundation also supports the Foix Park, helping to preserve the natural and cultural values of the natural park through active management, in harmony with the socioeconomic development and social use of the environment.

The Abertis Strategic Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Plan establishes the involvement of the Group in the communities where it carries out its business.

The exhibition Miró: la experiencia de mirar” (Miró: the experience of looking)was held at the National Museum of Fine Arts in Buenos Aires (Argentina) from 25th November 2017 to 25th February 2018.
